Reasoning and Problem Solving in Maths
The course will provide opportunities to reflect on and share expertise in developing reasoning and problem solving opportunities for all pupils. We will also briefly reflect on the KS1 mathematics teacher assessment framework and its implications for the mathematics curriculum. During the session you will consider strategies to develop fluency, reasoning and problem solving in addition to considering the skills, knowledge and understanding for a ‘greater depth learner’. Delegates will explore what is meant by ‘mastery’ learning and the importance of creating opportunities to embed learning in pupils’ long-term memory.
